Frankenmuth, Michigan --Our visit to the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Bavarian Inn Restaurant...

(We received a complimentary visit to the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Bavarian Inn Restaurant while working through

Happy Wednesdsay!

I'm so excited to tell you about our weekend in Frankenmuth, Michigan -- "Michigan's little Bavaria." I've never been to Germany, but seeing how beautiful Frankenmuth is and getting a feel of everything German, it definitely has me wanting to go! Frankenmuth is known for their famous chicken dinners and German entrees, eclectic shopping and entertainment and their rich historical culture all around.

Take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage, visit the Glockenspiel and authentic wooden covered bridge,  and sample Michigan's greatest selection of German beers all along 13 acres of beautiful riverfront.

We stayed at the gorgeous Bavarian Inn Lodge which offers 360 German themed guest rooms, 4 Indoor Pools (one is for adults only!), 2 Water Slides, 3 Whirlpools, a Family Fun Center with 18 Holes of Indoor Mini-Golf and over 100 Redemption Video Games. The resort also offers 2 Restaurants, a Meeting and Convention center for space up to 500 people and a lounge that offers free nightly entertainment. Our guest room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we loved having our own balcony that looked over the Cass River.

The boys' loved playing a round of putt-putt golf, swimming in the pools and getting Craig and I to go down the crazy water slides with them! The Bavarian Inn Lodge is very family friendly, but with the adult only pool and various places to eat and get drinks it's also the perfect getaway for couples! You're within walking distance of 75 unique Frankenmuth Main Street shops and attractions and the Bavariann Inn Restaurant.

I love the rich heritage of both the lodge and restaurant. Owned and operated by the "Bavarian Inn" Zehnder Family --the same family who's been serving the World Famous Frankenmuth Chicken dinners since 1928. The two now have 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation family members working in management. We had the pleasure of both dining at the restaurant and meeting Dorothy Zehnder who started the Bavarian Inn Restaurant with her late husband William "Tiny" Zehnder. Dorothy was so sweet to come out to greet us while we were dining and signed a copy of her cookbook 'From My Kitchen to Yours' for me! It features many signature Bavarian Inn Restaurant recipes as well as an 80 year collection of  Dorothy's family favorites, wisdom and stories over the years.

( I made Dorothy's Banana Drop Cookies with Banana Frosting out of the book and they were delish! Craig's not a huge sweet's fan and devoured them --they were that good!)

At the age of 93, Dorothy still works in the Bavarian Inn kitchen several days a week --I pray that I look half as good as she does at the age of  93 and have her all of her energy and spunk too! We enjoyed the food, our cute waitress who took great care of us and the boys loved the men walking through playing accordions giving you that authentic Bavarian feel.

We loved Frankenmuth and highly recommend the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Bavarian Inn Restaurant. We will definitely visit again and hope you do too if you haven't already!

Every year, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals identify a child with a remarkable medical story from each state. These “Champions” serve as the face for the millions of children treated at Children's Miracle Network hospitals every year. These Champions and their families travel to Washington, D.C., and Orlando, Fla. on an official Ambassador Tour to highlight the vital work of children’s hospitals.
Meet Champion Ethan from my home state, Ohio!
Doctors describe Ethan and his recovery from viral myositis with rhabdomyolysis as a “miracle.”
In 2010, doctors recorded Ethan’s creatine phosphokinase (CPK) levels at the highest ever documented at the Dayton Children's Hospital. His high CPK levels were indicative of a rapid breakdown that can clog the kidneys and result in kidney failure. Ethan’s virus is the worst case ever documented worldwide and seemed unsurvivable.
Though the prognosis was grim, Ethan returned home after 33 days in the hospital, including 19 in the pediatric intensive care unit. Today, Ethan is fully recovered. He is an active teenager who loves spending hours perfecting his basketball skills and dreams of playing college sports for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Funds In Action

Funds contributed by CMN Hospitals purchased life-saving medical equipment including the total care bed, MRI machine and life support systems that Ethan utilized during his stay.

Do you have a story or experience with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals? If you do, we would LOVE to hear it!
We hope you'll help support CMN Hospital's by purchasing Pampers and other select baby products at Walmart and we'd love to help by giving you the chance to win a $25 Walmart Gift Card!

Monitor your home and open and close your garage door anytime, anywhere with the Neposmart Security Camera...

(The Jackson Five Family received a complimentary product sample to help facilitate this reader feature. However, all opinions are honest and our own!)

My husband is so excited about the Neposmart Camera --It's a security camera that allows you to view live HD video and open and close your garage door from anywhere at anytime via your phone, tablet, or PC.
Watch this video to see exactly how it works!

The Neposmart Camera is easy to use, easy to set up and we love that it doesn't require a monthly fee. You don't even have to enter your private information anywhere, it's all secured and controlled by your own device.

When I first heard about Neposmart I loved the idea of a security camera for our home and the idea of being able to put our garage door up and down from wherever we are. I can't tell you how many times we have left our house and thought did we put the door down and had to turn around and go back only to find it shut, talk about a waste of time! With the Neposmart we can now check right from our phones if we left it up and the app alerts us after a certain period of time if we didn't put it down.

We have used the Neposmart so much already. It came in handy the other day --We've had so much rain here in Ohio and we were in a neighboring town and their power went out. My husband started freaking out because our basement has flooded in the past and we weren't sure if our town still had power. We immediately thought about the Neposmart. He went into the app activated our garage door and it immediately went up so we knew we had power and didn't have to rush home to check our sump pump or start the generator. What a great way to tell if our house still had power when we weren't home! It's also nice to be able to put our door up when we are a few minutes away and it's storming and pouring down rain. It's up when arrive and can pull right in without a wait.
The Neposmart also came in handy when I was with my mom the other day and my garage door opener was in my car at her house. We stopped by to get something that I forgot and I thought great I can not get in and we'll have to go all the way across town to get the opener and come back. Then I remembered the Neposmart app and put the door up! No running across town to let myself in. It was so convenient.
The Neposmart has awesome features on it to help you monitor your home. You can take still pictures, record video, listen to sound, zoom in and it lets you scan the whole room you are monitoring by moving the camera from your device! You can set different shots of your room and with the touch of a button it will automatically take you to the views you have set up and it can detect motion and alert you if you want it to. It also works at night with it's night vision. If you have more than one camera you an also view them all from the same app. It's great knowing that we can keep an eye our house right from our phone no matter where we are!

I never imagined we'd use the garage door opener feature so much, but now I don't know how we could live without it because we've used it so many times! We did have a little trouble setting it up and we called the support number and they walked us through every step to make sure we had it working in no time. The only thing I don't like about it is that my husband thought he would be funny the other day and activated the garage door when the kids and I were home alone. I immediately thought who put up the garage door and there were no cars around, then I remembered he could do it from his phone as --funny guy!
