WHAT'S FOR DINNER...
Wow it's been a crazy week! I'm not sure if I blogged about my parents floor around Thanksgiving. The water line going to the ice maker on their refrigerator started leaking and it ruined their laminate floors in their dining room and they had to have a company come in with these very noisey blowers and dehumidifiers to dry things out. They ended up having to put a new floor throughout their dining room/kitchen/bathroom and laundry room. My dad and his friend worked so hard laying it and it looked so nice. Well since we are still living here our bedroom is in the basement and Thursday night we were in the living room in the basement watching t.v. and it was about 12:30 and we thought it's late we better get to bed. Jace fell asleep on the couch and when Craig went to move him into his bed he turned on the bedroom light and starting screaming "go get your mom now and wake her up" I thought why??? Well when he turned on the light in the bedroom it was like it was raining in there! Water was coming from the ceiling, through the vents and our bed was SOAKED!!! We immediately ran upstairs and the kitchen/laundry room was flooded with water! The same thing happened again! My dad had went to Menard's and asked the worker specifically what tube to get to hook up the ice maker when it broke the 1st time and when he looked at it when it broke off it said all along it "DO NOT USE FOR ICE MAKER" in small letters! What a mess they had again! He was so mad at them! My parents were sick, they had just gone through this, worked so hard getting everything back together and now it happened again? Their house is only about 6 years old and is so nice, it's like why again :( I feel so bad for them, why would this happen again? So once again their floor is ripped up, their house is torn apart in places and they have blowers and dehumidifiers drying this out! My mom said she is NEVER having the ice maker hooked up again!!!
Last night we went shopping. The boys needed new tennis shoes. I'm so sick of putting boots on them and they've grown out of some of their other shoes, I can't believe how big their feet look in their new shoes!
We got these for Grady. He looks so big in them! Like a little man walking around, so cute!
We got these for Jace! I wasn't sure if I liked them until he put them on, they look really "cool" on him ha ha! They had black ones just like them with a white swoosh and Craig liked them better, especially for the fact that they wouldn't get as dirty but I really liked the white. They just feel more summery to me and we tried them both on him and Jace wanted the white too! At least we agree now, I'm sure the older he gets it will be the opposite!
I will leave you with two things we had for supper tonight! One is my mom's pizza burgers, super easy and so good! The other is a dessert that I saw one of my friends say that she made on her fb status called Ritz Cracker dessert. I looked up a recipe for it and made it. It is so rich, but so yummy!
MY MOM'S PIZZA BURGERS
Brown 1 lb of hamburger. Add parsley and oregano to your liking. Add 1 can tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce, mix everything together. Spoon hamburger on to of hamburger bun halves. Top with mozzarella cheese. Put under broiler until cheese melts and serve! These are a family favorite and so easy to make!
RITZ CRACKER DESSERT
It's so easy I made it, ha ha ha!
3 tubes Ritz Crackers crushed (we used Townhouse crackers) I know defies the name
1 stick margarine, melted
1 cup coconut (instead of coconut we used finely crushed heath bars) I suppose you could use anything crushed that you wanted
1 cup pecans (we skipped these because of the boys)
Reserve 1/2 cup crust for topping
1/2 gal vanilla ice cream, softened
1 large box vanilla instant pudding
1 cup milk
1 8oz. carton Cool-Whip
Combine crushed crackers, melted margarine, coconut & pecans (or heath like we did)
Mixing well with fork until ingredients are moistened. Press firmly into bottom of 13x9 in. pan. In very large bowl, mix together the 1/2 gal softened vanilla ice cream, large box of vanilla pudding, 1 cup milk and the 8 oz. carton Cool-Whip. Mix well, and pour over crust, garnishing with the 1/2 cup reserved crust crumbles. Place into freezer for 45 min. Remove from freezer, place in refrigerator keeping the dessert covered!
So YUMMY, but so fattening!
Well I have a few give-a-ways coming up. I will be posting one tomorrow! Check back for that :)
