Creativity For Kids- Do Art Pottery Studio Review & Give-a-way ends 11/11/2010

Have you thought about what you're getting your kids, grandkids or that special child in your life this year for Christmas?

Well we have reviewed several products from Creativity For Kids and I love that their items are all fun and they all inspire creativity and the use of imagination! So when we recently had the opportunity to review their Do Art Pottery Studio we all got excited!

The Do Art Pottery Studio introduces children to the art and history of hand sculpted pottery. From pinch pots to clay figurines, this pottery wheel set will teach and inspire. There is also a fully illustrated instruction booklet that will provide young artists with an exceptional introduction to the art and craft of hand thrown pottery. The wheel surface is grooved which helps to hold the clay firmly and keeps it centered. The foot pedal operation means no on/off switch to worry about, so the batteries last a long time.

**Important Note - Our pottery wheel is a high quality children's craft product. Although the function is similar, it should not be compared to real pottery wheels costing hundreds/thousands of dollars. I remember taking a pottery class in high school and it was so much fun! So when Creativity For Kids said they would send us this to try I got so excited myself! It is recommended for ages 8 and up but I knew I would be helping the boys the whole time and thought what a fun thing they can continue to use as they get a little older.

So we opened the kit and inclu
ded is:
  • pottery wheel w/foot pedal (8 7/8"w x 3"h x 9 7/8"d)
  • 3lbs. of synthetic air dry clay
  • trimming cord w/handles
  • 6 piece sculpting tool set
  • white base paint
  • opaque acrylic paints
  • transparent glaze paints
  • 2 paint brushes
  • sponge
  • large table cover
  • artists apron

We put our aprons on and got to work! Let
me tell you Jace and I had so much fun "trying" to create something, ha ha!

We were so messy and kind of sculpted something? ha! We had fun playing with the clay and Jace and I attempted the wheel!

The wheel and foot pedal were very easy to use and once Jace gets just a tad bit older I think he will love to make more things! He seriously was concentrating so hard, just look at his tongue hanging out, cracks me up!

Grady was definitely too small for this, but again it says for ages 8 and up and he is only 2 1/2, he did love playing with the clay and making his brother mad!

Jace kept teasing him and saying "Look Grady Foofa (off of Yo Gabba Gabba) is at the door) so he would go look and leave him alone! Jace said "Mommy I just want it to be perfect) AWE!!!

I will be honest and tell you that we had so much fun playing with the clay that we never let anything dry to paint yet! Jace wouldn't let mine dry on the blue plate and just wanted to keep making things! Next time hopefully we will have a finished product! :) I also wanted to tell you that if you run out of the clay that comes with the kit you can purchase just the Refill for $11.99!!

I am so excited announce that 1 of my lucky readers is going to win their very own Do Art Pottery Studio valued at $49.99! This would make someone an awesome Christmas gift and maybe you can cross someone off your list if you win! :)
