Summer is here and even though Jace is out of school we still like to keep him and his brother busy doing fun, educational things! Well we were recently introduced to a really fun company that has products geared just for kids and their imaginations...
Welcome to the kingdom—Peaceable Kingdom! Where dinosaurs roam and a mermaid princess swims, where a child can host a fairy tea party or sail the open seas on a pirate ship. A place of imagination and exploration and fun! Since 1983, Peaceable Kingdom has created fresh, fun products for kids that educate, inspire and tickle funny bones.
We had the opportunity to review a cooperative board game from Peaceable Kingdom called Hoot Owl Hoot and let me tell you my boys have had so much fun playing it! Hoot Owl Hoot is a color coded matching game that can be played at different levels.
The object of the game is to move all of the owls from the start to finish into the nest before the sun rises. They each have 3 cards in their hand. If they have a sun card they must use it to move the sun token closer to where the sun rises (not a good thing).
If they have a color card they can move it to an open color spot on the board trying to get the owls into the nest. They love the part where if an owl flies over another owl everyone starts hooting!
The best part about this game is that it is cooperative - meaning all of the players take turns but work together all working for the same outcome, so either they all win or all lose. This is so great for my kids right now as they get mad when one does something better or faster than the other. With Hoot Owl Hoot they all work together for the same outcome. A cooperative game eliminates stress, builds self-esteem, and teaches kids that playing together and cooperating with each other can be fun!
We have played this so many times and each time we have so much fun. You can start as a beginner with only a few owls and then add more to make it more challenging which is fun depending on if we are just playing with our 3 year old or our 5 year old or if we are all playing together!

Hoot Owl Hoot has received several awards like the Parents' Choice Silver Award, Major Fun Award and the Dr. Toy Best Green product 2011! All around it's just a very neat game that I love as a parent because it teaches them things like color strategy, simple strategy, following directions, social development and cooperation! My kids love it because it's just so much fun to play and even more fun when they work together and get all of the owls in the nest before the sun comes up!
Peaceable Kingdom has so many more fun things like Birthday Cards, Diaries, Early Learning products, Stickers and of course all kinds of fun, educational games!

Follow Peaceable Kingdom on Facebook- Kimberley Rose Meier- but couldn't tell them you sent me because my Facebook posting has been blocked because I was trying to enter a contest hosted by Love By CC and the first entry was to "like" a huge list of sponsoring vendors. Halfway through the list a pop appeared saying that I was misusing this feature and that it was deemed abusive and annoying. So hopefully this entry will count and let this be a lesson for everybody else because this block is irrversible and can last for a few hours to a few days.
