Pulse Yoga Workout DVD's Review & Give-a-way ends 07/08/2011...

Oh my, I am loving summer! Right now it's 8 am and it's gorgeous out already! So sunny and warm and what better way to start my morning than with one of my new Pulse Yoga DVD's!

Pulse Yoga was created by founder Argie Ligeros Tang who later teamed up with Co-Founder Prisca Boris. These women are no newbies to yoga - Argie has studied a myriad of yoga styles from some of the great masters and opened the 1st Yoga College of India for Bikram Choudrury in 1978. She has taught over 15,000 classes and has developed yoga programs for schools, corporations, hospitals, television and for the elite level Olympian to the recreational weekend warrior. Prisca who started yoga in 1993 conducts classes in Vail and has now teamed up with Argie as they launched the "Y4A" Yoga for Athletes Fitness Program.

Pulse Yoga
combines yoga with free weights adding micro movements that primarily target areas such as the gluteus muscles, abdominals, upper arms and lower back. These micro movements within the yoga postures are highly effective with results that are noticeable immediately.

I had the opportunity to review all for of the Pulse Yoga workout's...

The 1st DVD is Pulse Yoga I Basic (60 min): A basic yoga routine that introduces the Pulse concept of micro movements within a posture. Key areas such as abdominal, lower back and gluteus muscles are targeted. Alternating right/left pulse movements with free weights define and sculpt the upper body.

The 2nd DVD is Pulse Yoga II Balance & Tone (60 min): Balance in motion are emphasized here by connecting standing balancing postures in order to master control over the body in any position. Efficient simultaneous movements of free weights tone the upper body.

The 3rd DVD is Pulse Yoga III Stamina & Strength (60 min): Build stamina and strength through more intense use of free weights. Inner thigh stretching and strengthening, hip flexibility and toning of the gluteus muscles is emphasized.

The 4th DVD is Pulse Yoga Express: Only have 30 minutes? You can pack a lot of "Pulse" into that short time. A condensed routine that addresses major workout needs.

After having these for several weeks now I have slowly tried all of the workouts. I am very beginner when it comes to Yoga and after trying each I have went back to the Basic DVD for now. I am really enjoying these workouts. I love that Argie explains every step and I also love that Prisca gives a modified version for a beginner like myself which makes it very easy to ease into and it's not overwhelming like some DVD's I've had in the past where they just think you are experts! It makes it nice that they have the very basic dvd teaching you the movements and then gradually moving on to more advanced workouts.

I also love that they filmed these workouts in the tropical paradise of Punta Mita, Mexico. You can just see how warm and sunny it is there with gorgeous water in the background, really helping you get into a peaceful mind set. I am going to keep practicing Pulse Yoga as I really love doing it. If you've never tried yoga this would be a great place for you to start and if you are more advanced you will love these as well!!

You can check out some of their workouts on their YouTube Channel below...

  13. Hey Jen! I love that Pulse Yoga can be done at home and I've been wanting to try yoga. All of the studios around here are kind of expensive - like $11 - $13 per class! Yikes!

  26. I follow with GFC (Angie). If I had to choose only one workout to do, it would def be yoga. I like that it incorporates weights too. When I was really into my workout routine (you know b4 kids) I would do weight training a few days a week and yoga or pilates the others.
