Mouth Man Animated Hoodie Review & Give-a-way ends 08/03/2011...

Do your kids ever put their arms over one another as if they are hugging themselves and then pretend that their elbows are "jaws" when they move them apart? Well my kids have done this and now their is an Animated Shirt/Hoodie that actually looks like a character with jaws when you do this motion with your arms...

Ross Valory original member and founder of the rock band Journey was visiting friends in Arizona, sipping coffee and "just hanging out" ... as his friend's kids were tearing around the house doing something they referred to as the "JAWS". Some 20 years later that very memory just arbitrarily "popped" into his head... and Ross "hugged himself" in the same fashion those kids did years ago, and thought..."hmmmm, it would be cool if there was a shirt with a graphic on the sleeves that would form a face with a mouth that would open and close when you put your arms together!" He designed a shirt that did just that and that is when Mouth Man was born!

We were recently able to choose a Mouth Man Hoodie ($29.99) for review and Jace my 5 year old was so excited! I showed him all of the kids designs which include a Gecko, Shark, Raptor, Frog, Dog, Cobra, Gator, Tiger, Meerkat, Whale, T-Rex, Dragon, XOXO Heart and a Skeleton one which he just had to have...

Once this arrived he had to put it on right away...can you say instant fight with his brother, ha! Not only was Grady mad that he didn't get his own but because Jace was chasing after him acting like he was going to eat his little brother with his new Mouth Man shirt.

The front of this shirt features the body of the Skeleton

and when arms are folded across the chest the image changes to reveal an open mouthed Skeleton

and the back of the hoodie features the back of the Skeleton body.

This shirt is really unique and a lot of fun for kids. Definitely not something you see everyday or something that everyone in the neighborhood has. Jace has had so much fun wearing it and wants to wear it all of the time. I love a few things about it too - first and foremost it's made right here in the USA and is printed with eco-friendly inks on recycled fabric. The fabric is 100% Polyester Sport and is so light weight and stretchy and it washes up very well which is another plus!

Kirkland's 5 Piece Complete Dorm Organization Set Review & Give-a-way

Back to School 5 Piece Complete Dorm Organization Set

Can you believe that school is just around the corner? It's been so hot here that it's hard to think about it coming up so quickly. Whether you are like me and having your 1st one going to kindergarten or maybe yours is starting college it's time to start thinking about getting more organized. Summer around here is just more laid back because we are always on the go...going to festivals, hanging out at the pool and just doing fun things but when school starts if you are like me you just feel like you have to get back into the grind of things, more on a schedule and definitely more organized around the house etc...



I recently had the opportunity to review a 5 Piece Complete Dorm Set valued at $24.99 from Kirkland's which included a 6 Shelf Sweater Organizer, a 10 Shelf Shoe Organizer, a Bed Storage Bag (9.5" x 6" x 12"), a Laundry Bag (24" x 36") and a Drawer Organizer.


Oh course I'm not in college nor are my kids but this can be used in any household to help you stay more organized which is always a plus around here! I made good use of each item in this set. I knew exactly where I would put the 2 hanging closet storage organizers. The front closet in our living room was a disaster. I didn't think about taking a picture of it until after I had it cleaned up, but that's probably a good thing because it was quite embarrassing!

As you can see below I used the Sweater Organizer for shoes, movies and DVDs and it was perfect for that! And then the Shoe Organizer I put shoes in. We always throw our shoes in this closet when we come home and you can imagine what a mess the floor was having shoes all over. I LOVE these 2 items. They just Velcro on which was nice!


Next was this neat Bed Storage Bag. I had actually never seen one of these before. You just tuck the flap underneath your mattress and then you have this neat storage bag for your magazines, books, TV remote and anything else you keep beside your bed.



Usually this stuff ends up cluttering our bedside table, so I love this idea.


I had this wicker laundry basket in the boys room but it didn't have a liner so I used the laundry bag just for that! It matches perfectly and looks so much better with a liner. This Laundry Bag is HUGE and would be perfect for that college student who has to carry their clothes to the laundry room.


The last item is the Drawer Organizer which I actually put to good use on our entertainment center. We have like 10 remotes laying around so this was perfect for those. Now we just keep our remotes in this basket when not in use and we always know where they were! Don't you hate when you lose a remote and you have to dig through the cushions on your couch and search the house not knowing if your kids got a hold of one!?


Over all I am loving this new organization set. For only $24.99 you can afford to get organized and pick up one of these sets to send to school with your kids! The quality of these items are great and I love that they are a neutral color so you can use these at home as well.

The Pink Monogram Review & Give-a-way ends July 31, 2011...

Oh my goodness it has been around 100 degrees here in Ohio the past few days! Yes I said 100!! Oh my it is so hot out - but just because it's hot that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice style. One of my favorite things to wear when it's hot is this new Monogrammed t-shirt sent to me by The Pink Monogram.



Let me tell you a little about The Pink Monogram ( love their name!) before telling you more about the t-shirt sent for review...


The Pink Monogram was started by Monica Smith who went to college to be a teacher. She taught 1st grade for over 20 years and while teaching she always wanted to own her own business. So 9 years ago she resigned from teaching and started her own monogram and Internet business, The Pink Monogram.

Today The Pink Monogram sells everything from the Original Monogrammed Clog to things like purses, jewelry, household items, back-to-school products and sooooo much more! They have been featured on the "O" list and oprah.com and have even made Oprah's Favorite things in 2010 when their High Heel Monogrammed Clog appeared in the July 2010 Magazine!!




I was so excited to be able to review one of The Pink Monograms items. The sent me one of their Monogrammed T-Shirts for Ladies $39. This t-shirt is by far one of my favorites this summer! For one I love anything monogrammed and this t-shirt is just so adorable and not to mention comfortable!



This t-shirt comes in 6 fun colors: Black, Chocolate Brown, Green, Navy, Soft Pink and Turquoise. After you choose the color of the t-shirt then you get to choose what color font you would like for your vinyl monogram: White, Black, Silver, Chocolate, Hot Pink, Lime Green, Turquoise or Navy. After you have decided on colors then you get to choose what font you would like, if you want a border around your monogram and then your monogram style so that you can create the perfect tee customized just for you!



As you can see above I chose the black tee with hot pink letters, the traditional 3 letter monogram and the elegant style font. This shirt is so stretchy and comfortable. It's the perfect t-shirt for dressing up or down. I just love to wear it with cut off jean shorts right now and a cute pair of sandals. I receive so many compliments when I wear this and think that every girl needs an adorable t-shirt with their monogram on it.

My 3 year old Grady loves riding his tricycle around our kitchen table and through our house on the tile floor. Well we recently had the opportunity to review a new ride on toy and this new PlasmaCar has totally replaced his trike!

We received a red PlasmaCar and the boys were SO excited when it arrived! They couldn't wait to put this together and have some fun. It was very easy to put together as you just snapped on the wheels and put on the steering wheel and it was pretty much ready to go within a few short minutes.

I'm not joking - he has rode this every single day since it arrived. He rides it around inside on our tile floor most of the time, but we have also taken this to both grandparents houses so that he can ride outside when we are there.

The PlasmaCar is so light making it easy to throw in the back of our car and take with us wherever we are going. It's such a fun thing to ride, I have even taken it for a spin - should have had that on video, ha! It can hold up to 220 lbs!!

Aromatic Escape Candle & Lotion Bar Review & Give-a-way ends July 26th, 2011...

Mmmmm there is nothing better than a great smelling candle burning in the house and I recently had the opportunity to review the perfect summer candle and a lotion bar from Aromatic Escape. Before I tell you about the great products that I was sent let me tell you about this great company...


Aromatic Escape was founded and created by Sabrina Gould in 2002. Well before the market exploded with candle makers, Sabrina was spending lots of time and research into finding the perfect blend of ingredients for her products. The classic Aromatic Escape candle was born in a Jelly Jar (Mason Jar of the times). The truth is, a candle needs to be designed well to perform, no matter the wax used. A lot of trial and error goes into the making of all products - the right scents, the right wax and the perfect mix of all ingredients to compliment each other. Her products sold successfully at flea markets and then at craft shows and today Aromatic Escape is still growing and is now being sold in Florida and Maryland. In addition to the original candles, Aromatic Escape now has a full line of body products, which includes salt scrubs, sugar scrubs, body masks and lotion bars.


Aromatic Escape sent me the perfect scented 9 oz candle ($10) for summer called Butt Naked, which by the way is the scent of the month ( July ) at Aromatic Escape where you will receive 20% off of the Butt Naked products!


I have been burning my candle for several weeks now and I just love it. Butt Naked has a tantalizing base note medley of granny smith apples and honeydew melon, middle notes of strawberries and pears with hints of spice.

Aromatics Escape candle wax is a soy/paraffin mix. The soy allows them to burn cleaner and longer than strictly paraffin candles and the paraffin allows them to hold the scent better than strictly soy candles. These candles burn about 50-60 hours each and they DO NOT pit in the center as many candles on the market do. They burn flat and even all the way down to the bottom of the jar which is so nice. I LOVE this scent and my house smells soooooo good when I burn this one!


The next product that I was able to try is one of their Lotion Bars ($10). I have never seen these before so I was so excited to try one. If you've never tried a lotion bar before I will tell you that you need one! What is it you ask? Aromatic Escapes lotion bars are a lotion in a solid form. I was like, HUH? But I love this product now that I have tried it.


The lotion bar comes in a tin and almost looks like a bar of soap. What you do with it is just rub it on your hands and it soaks into your skin acting like a second skin - helping to moisturize and protect your hands. Since it acts like a second skin you can wash your hands without washing the lotion away. This product is great for anyone who washes their hands a lot and is so nice because you can just throw it in your purse and bring it with you wherever you go.

I received the lotion bar in the Mango Papaya scent and can you say yummy!!! It's so tropical and again it's another perfect scent for summer.

RANGO DVD & Storybook Review and Give-a-way ends July 22, 2011...

Rango is a MUST see movie this summer! We were so lucky to receive a Rango summer fun play pack which included Rango on DVD, the Rango Story Book, and other Rango goodies like a beach ball, water gun, ballons, water friendly tote, water bottle, and lip balm.


When we were asked to review this movie, we were SO excited because we had seen previews but never made it to the theater to see it. I told Jace it was coming and he couldn't wait for it to arrive. When it arrived oh my goodness was he sooooo happy! The boys wanted to watch the movie right away. We didn't realize that it had arrived until late in the evening and after having swim lessons in the morning and vbs in the evening they fell asleep within the first five minutes :( so Craig and I ended up watching it by ourselves. Don't worry though, the next day they got to see it and they both LOVED it as much as we did.


Rango is such a cute movie and like I said before it's a must see for the whole family this summer! They not only loved the movie but loved The Movie Storybook just as much.


We always read to the boys before bed and they couldn't wait for me to read this to them. They also had fun playing with the balloons, beach ball and water gun!

flipflop wines review...

My husband and I are not big drinkers but we do enjoy a nice glass of wine every once in awhile. Recently we were introduced to a new brand of wine and you are all going to love the name of this company as it's so fitting for summer...

So let me introduce you to flipflop wines - flipflop wines was created when Vintner, David Georges was working at an organic vegetable farm in the Mt. Shasta region of California, David discovered the art of grape growing. After planting a small vineyard on the farm, he was fascinated with wine, from managing the vineyard to tasting the fruits of his labor. Inspired to learn more, David attended the University of California at Davis first to study viticulture, and then added winemaking coursework as well. David honed his winemaking skills at well-known California wineries including Artesa and Davis Bynum.

In 2009, David began working on the wines that would become the inaugural vintage of flipflop. His goal is to stay true to each wine’s varietal character, and to make great tasting wines that don’t break the bank.

We were able to review 3 bottles of flipflop so let me tell you about each one...

First let me tell you about my favorite the Riesling. Oh my was this wine good! We had a pool party a few weeks ago with some family and of course I shared flipflop with them. The Riesling has hints of peach, apricot and melon which lead to a satisfying, smooth finish. This tropical, sweet wine was so good on a hot summer day and the name is so fitting!

The 2nd wine I just had to share with my brother Josh and his wife Sara because they love Pinot Grigio. Pino Grigio is a light-bodied, refreshing wine with tropical citrus, ripe pear and a zesty, clean finish. They very much enjoyed this wine and loved it when I told them that it is only $7 a bottle and were even more excited when I told them that they sold this at our local grocery store!

The last bottle is their Pinot Noir. I wasn't sure about this wine because I like very sweet wine and it is medium-dry wine. I read on the website that this is great paired with grilled mahi mahi, baconwrapped shrimp or chocolate chip cookies so we paired it with just that, chocolate chip cookies and oh my it went very well! Pinot Noir has cola aromas with hints of vanilla and is best served at room temperature.

Over all we were all very pleased with flipflop wines! I was most excited that it is very affordable and found at our local grocery store ( and we live in a rather small town!). I love having a good bottle of wine in the house just in case we have unexpected visitors or friends over and I don't mind these setting out on my wine rack because the labeling is so cute too!

There is one more awesome thing about this company - they have paired with Soles4Souls and for every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need! LOVE THAT!!
