Smart Girls Who Surf - Review and Give-a-way ends on 02/18/2012...

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU!

Skin cancer does not discriminate between sports, age, or ethnicity. Skin Cancer affects everyone.
Please protect your skin. Use sunscreen everyday.

I love this next company I am about to introduce you all to, it's called...

Smart Girls Who Surf  is a natural skin care and sun care company located in Laguna Beach, CA. The company's vision is simple: To promote healthy skin care awareness in a way that is safe and healthy for your body and for the environment. They are committed to creating earth-friendly products that nurture your skin and protect the environment without using toxic chemicals or synthetic preservatives.

They ARE smart girls who love to be outside - they love to surf, snowboard, ski, play volleyball, run, swim and just spend time with their friends on the beach. These girls know just how important maintaining a healthy lifestyle is and that includes protecting their skin while outdoors.

That's why they created this line that includes a high quality sunscreen formula that is manufactured right here in the USA.  Their products not only benefit girls who surf but they have created a line of products that benefit men, women and children who participate in all types of action sports or who just love to be outside!

Smart Girls Who Surf sent me one of their Sun Savvy Kit's ($34.99) - I just adore this kit.  First it comes in a very "beachy" biodegradable jute printed bag.  It's perfect for carrying all of your necessities in. The inside is filled with natural skin care products that are a must to protect your skin -

  • SPF 30+ Smart Girls Who Surf Chemical Free Sunscreen (4 oz.)
  • After Sun Soothing Lotion for Dry Skin (4 oz.)
  • Care for Hair Leave-in Conditioner with SPF 7 (2 oz.)
  • One Glycerine Soap for Surfers (Lemon Zest Scent)
  • All Natural SPF 15 Sunscreen Lip Balm (Vanilla or Cherry)
  • Black, wide-toothed comb

It really is everything a girl needs for the beach - I love that they are all-natural and just have a very light, fresh scent to them.  The sunscreen and lotion are very creamy, not greasy at all and rub right into your skin.  I received the vanilla lip balm in mine and it smells so good too, I love that it has SPF 15 to protect my lips.  There is nothing worse than burnt lips, yes unfortunately I learned this lesson the hard way!

Another thing that I think is so neat about this kit is that they include a little plastic card that features Melanoma Awareness.  It has pictures of moles on it and talks about A-asymmetry, B-border, C-color, D-diameter and E-evolution and even includes a little millimeter measuring chart at the bottom so that if you think you might have a mole that is a little off you can measure it and with the color chart etc... you can determine whether you need to have yours checked out!

The next kit they sent is the Surf-Vival Kit ($26.99) geared towards guys - the products included in this kit are-

  • 4 oz. Chemical Free SPF 30+ Surf-Vival Sunscreen
  • Organic SPF 32 Surf-Vival Sunscreen Face Stick (No fragrance)
  • One all natural, handmade glycerin Soap for Surfers (Tropical Mist Scent)
  • One SPF 15 all natural lip balm (Iced Pear)-
I think this kit is so great - just because you are a guy doesn't mean that you shouldn't protect your skin just as us girls do!  Again these products come in the biodegradable jute printed bag and include all of the essentials for protecting your skin.  I have put the facestick on my boys and can't wait to use it more this summer.  I love that I don't have to worry about getting a cream in their eyes and it's super easy to apply over their noses etc...  They really love putting on the iced pear lip balm too - it's very fruity, not girly as they would say.  It's been perfect for this winter as their lips get so dried out, they think it's cool and it's not mom's  girly stuff she is usually trying to put on them...sorry boys, ha ha!

Over all I am loving this line of products!  It would be great for any age, but would be especially great to introduce to those tween's and teens who are in the sun and might not think they need protection.  The packaging is really "cool" and "beachy" and would be perfect for them!

I am definitely going to purchase some of the products from their Smart Kids Who Play line this summer!  We spend so much time in my parents pool and I love the other products so much that I know I will love these just as well.

They have SPF 35+ Sunscreen a Facestick and a Lip Balm - again I love that they are free of active chemicals and parabens, so they will protect the boys' skin all while putting something natural on them.

  1. I'd like to try out the Surf-Vival Lip Balm in Iced Pear too. It sounds like it would be really refreshing after a day in the sun.
