Newport Aquarium --Newport, KY / Greater Cincinnati Area Review....

- PLACES TO GO FEATURE -

A few days I ago I shared our Ride the Ducks Tour, Newport review with you all.  Today, I am excited to share our fun adventure to the Newport Aquarium also located on the Levee in Newport, KY / Greater Cincinnati Area.

If you are looking for a fun family adventure this summer, we would highly recommend visiting Newport on the Levee as there are so many neat things to do --Shopping, Dining, visiting the Newport Aquarium, taking a ride on the Ride the Ducks Tour and so much more!  Not only can you do all of this, but the Levee is close to so many other things like the Great American Ball Park where the Cincinnati Reds play.  Fountain Square which is located downtown Cincinnati and usually has live entertainment and if you do plan on visiting you can not forget to stop in at Graeter's Ice Cream where you will have the best ice cream, no kidding it's unbelievably good!

So back to visiting the Aquarium, right now they have an AMAZING DEAL you will want to know about!  It's their Summer Family Hours Online Special --For every full price adult ticket you buy online, you get 2 FREE child tickets good for admission from 4-7p.m., Sundays through Fridays now until August 31st.  This exclusive deal can be found on the Aquarium website http://store.newportaquarium.com/tickets/buy-tickets.aspx

If you are planning on visiting the Aquarium AND taking the Ride the Ducks Tour like our family did they have a new combo ticket available for purchase online! Ride the Ducks/Aquarium combination prices are $32 for adults and $21 for children, such a great deal and well worth the price!

(Here is a picture from the Ride the Ducks Tour - You can see the Aquarium on the right, it's looks like a ship!)

My kids love going to aquariums.  They love fish, sea creatures and just learning about new things.  The Aquarium is the perfect place to go right now when you can't be outside because of the extreme summer heat.  Not only did our kids enjoy it, but my husband and I did too.

One of our favorite parts of the Aquarium was the PenguinPalooza.  Penguins are just so neat to see and watch.  They are not something you see everyday.  There were several rows of seats so you could just sit back and watch them in action.

We didn't arrive for this, but every morning at 9 a.m. they actually have a Penguin Parade where the lovable African Penguins ride on their custom parade float.  Not only will your kids love watching the Parade but JP, Rocky and the Animal Experience Specialists will entertain you and your family with dancing, information and Q & A sessions.

The boys couldn't wait to see "Mighty Mike"  who is a 14 foot, 800 pound Alligator!  Mighty Mike is the biggest, baddest gator in the country outside of Florida.  Can you believe he is longer than most cars!?  The boys loved seeing him and all of his alligator and crocodile friends!  Check out the teeth on this one below, yikes!

They saw so many neat creatures, here are some other things they loved checking out...

As parents, Craig and I loved the interactive parts of the aquarium.  The kids loved the area where they could actually get their fingers in the water and touch a few things!

Grady loved seeing "how he measured up" to this huge shark...

and Jace loved trying out this "Weigh Station", that compared his weight to different sharks weight. Jace weighed the same as a Pyjama Catfish...

The boys loved taking a break in the big play area...

I thought this huge chandelier that mimicked a jelly fish was so neat...

At the end of the day, we had an absolute blast at the Newport Aquarium!  It was very clean, the staff was very nice and everyone there seemed to be having a good time.  Newport on the Levee is just a very neat, family friendly place to go.  Whether you spend a day or want to make a vacation out of it, I guarantee you won't run out of things to do in the Newport, KY / Greater Cincinnati area!
