Newport Ducks Tour -- Newport, KY Review....

I am so excited to share with you our latest Places to Go Feature.  We recently had the opportunity to visit Newport, KY (Greater Cincinnati Area) and take a tour on the Ride the Ducks.

If you are not familiar with Ride The Duck Tours let me tell you more about them.  You get on a vehicle like the one shown above called a land and water duck vehicle.  Once on it, your captain will take you on a sight seeing tour from both land and water.  You will drive through historic streets and neighborhoods and then you will splash your way down into the water where you will go on an exciting cruise.  You get to quack along with your captain who will mix fun, music and history into an interactive land and water experience!

There are several locations where you can do this like Branson, MO, Philidelphia, PA, Stone Mountain Park, GA and Newport, KY where we were!

The Newport, KY tour was so much fun!  We were able to to get a duck's eye view from the Newport and Cincinnati Streets and then we splashed into the Ohio River -- the boys absolutely LOVED it!

They give each person a "quaker", played songs like "Rollin Down the River" and gave us a lot of history which was very neat to hear.

We got to see the The Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds from a whole new angle.  My husband and boys are huge Reds fans so that was awesome!

We also drove by it on the land tour, can you tell it was a home game?! Unfortunately they lost that night against the Detroit Tigers!

We were also able to see the Paul Brown Stadium above, which is home to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Love this bridge picture that I took above.  There were so many great things to see and learn about.

We could also see the Newport Aquarium which we also had the opportunity to visit!  That review is coming up next, along with the awesome historic hotel we stayed at, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel.

Over all we had a blast on the Ride the Ducks Tour.  We would definitely do it again.  The boys thought it was awesome.

I have to tell you guys this...About a week or two after taking the tour I heard on the news that the Ride the Ducks Captain and Tour Guide saved 2 adults and 2 children from their capsized boat.  After reading it I realized it was our Captain and Tour Guide!!  How amazing were they that day to those boaters. I thought that was such a neat story to read.  You can read the article here!

If you are visiting Cincinnati then you MUST visit Newport on the Levee.  It is definitely a happening place. Fun shopping, great dining, the Newport Aquarium and the Ride the Ducks Tour, Newport.  You and your family will be more than entertained with things to do!
