Week 1 - Nutrisystem Post...

We just returned from vacation and I was so excited to find that all of my Nutrisystem food came while we were gone.  If you are not familiar with Nutrisystem you should know that it is a diet plan where you have all of your meals delivered right to your doorstep.  Along with the program you also are offered support, motivation and the tools you need to lose weight.

I received 28 Breakfast items, Protein Shakes, 28 Lunch items, 28 Dinner items and 28 Desserts.  You are not limited to only these foods though as you are allowed "Grocery Add-in" items too.  Add-in's include things like vegetables, fruits, lean meat, nuts etc...  These are called Smart Carbs and Power Fuel items.

(Below is a picture of some of the pantry items that I received - not included were my fresh frozen foods that were already in the freezer)

Also included is a "Welcome" kit which includes a Meal Planner, On the Go Meal Planner and a Dining Out guide to help you stay on track each and every day. The daily planner lists each item you should include in your diet including your Nutrisystem Meals, the Smart Carb and Power Fuel Add In's, Daily Protein Shakes, Veggies, a place to track your water intake, minutes exercised and your weight.

Also included is a Nutrisystem Sports Water Bottle to help track your daily water consumption and the Nurtrisystem Blender Bottle w/wire ball which helps you easily blend your daily protein shakes and conveniently take them with you wherever you go.

I have been on the program 4 days now and so far it's going pretty good.  It's definitely an adjustment though.  You eat more frequently starting off with breakfast, then a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner and then dessert.

I haven't felt starved at all and feel like I am actually eating more now then I was before.  I am trying to get all of my water in which again is a huge adjustment.  I did quit drinking pop several month's ago so that is not a problem at all, but getting 8 glasses of water in is a challenge and does make you have to go to the bathroom a whole lot more, ha!

So far the food is pretty good.  I am not a picky eater whatsoever, so that definitely helps!  If you are picky I'm not sure you would love everything but so far it's trial and error for me and I haven't hated anything that I have tried!  My favorite's so far have been the Chewy Chocolate Granola Bar, the Pizza and I loved the Chicken Taco's I had for lunch today!

My starting weight was 131 lbs. and today I weighed in at 127.8!  YAY!!  My goal is to lose my belly fat which is my worst area and the area that I am most self conscience about. I also want to tone up, gain some lean muscle with the workouts I am incorporating and hopefully get down to 115 which I weighed before having kids!

I hope you will continue to follow me on this journey as I report to you each week on my weight loss, daily struggles and which foods I love or maybe don't like at all!  Hoping I like each one though :-)
