Week 2 Nutrisystem...

Hey everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your day.  I am back to tell you about my experience on Nutrisystem so far. I am a little over two weeks into my Nutrisystem program and so far it's going great!!

I am getting adjusted to the eating schedule now -breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and a dessert. (Not to mention, lots of water throughout the day!)  Doesn't sound too bad eating that often, does it! I don't mind at all because I love food and am actually really enjoying the Nutrisystem entrees.

I have read several places that some people don't like the food, but I really do.  Usually in the morning I will have something like this omelet above or french toast with the one of the Protein Shakes-- my favorite is the chocolate!

I will then have a morning snack which is usually a low-fat yogurt or a string cheese.  Then for lunch I might have chicken noodle soup or my favorite cheesy homestyle potatoes.  Not only do you get to have a lunch entree, but you are also allowed a "powerfuel" as well.  Depending on what my meal is, I might at non-fat cottage cheese or 2 tbsp's of nuts.

For my afternoon snack I try to eat some berries or grapes.

I loved having this Butternut Squash Ravioli for dinner one night. It was created by Chef Mark Estee. It's ravioli in an orange sage sauce, topped with caramelized onions and it was so good! Along with the dinner entree you get to add a "smartcarb", I like to add a veggie or a small whole grain roll to my meal.

Last, but not least you have to have dessert and I really enjoy the ice cream sandwiches or the thin mint crisp bar.

There are seriously so many choices to choose from and I have only had the same thing maybe once or twice.  I love the variety of foods that are available with Nutrisystem. I haven't felt hungry yet or overly deprived of anything.

I will tell you that on the weekends I might eat out somewhere, but I use the dining out guide to make sure that I am making a sensible decision and love checking out the restaurants menu online before I arrive so temptation doesn't get the best of me when I get there!

Having a plan and sticking to it when I arrive has really helped.  I also don't deprive myself of something that I want because I know it will get the best of me. Instead I might have a bite of something or a very small portion.  Like last night we went to Tim Horton's and the boys wanted timbits which are very small dougnuts.  I allowed myself one doughnut and knew my limit.  If I told myself I couldn't have one at all, I know that would drive me nuts --I do have to be realistic and just realize that instead of eating 5 like I probably would have before that one is plenty!

I am happy to tell you all that the first day I weighed myself the scale read 131.4 and today it said 125.8!  Not too bad for just a little over two weeks into the program.  I am already starting to feel better and have started working out more.  I have been running on our treadmill in the morning and doing several workout's that incorporate aerobic activity and weights.

I hope you all will continue to follow me on this journey and I will be back next week for another update!
