New Year, New You --with Nutrisystem...


Craig and I been hitting our workouts hard this week. The holidays slowed us down a bit, but we are back at it. We have been using the treadmill and elliptical and I have been doing some workout video's that incorporate weights and medicine balls. 

I have been working out so hard and when I stepped on the scale I weighed .2 more than I did last week. They always say muscle weighs more than fat. Being on Nutrisystem has taught me so many things and one of them is that the number on the scale does not determine my body changes I guess you could say. I am ok with gaining .2 of a pound if my clothes are fitting better and I have more energy during the day. This program has taught me so much about portion sizes too. We went to the Olive Garden the other day and they brought out this huge plate of pasta. At one time I would have probably ate most of it, but knowing what a Nutrisystem portion looks like it really put things in perspective for me and reminds me that I do not have to eat so much food at one time. I actually feel so much fuller by eating smaller, more frequent meals thoughout the day.

Craig was the same way, he said that before he was on the program he would just eat the whole plate because it was in front of him, but now we really think before we chow down too much food!  We both try to drink a glass of water before our meals too and drink enough during the day. It's amazing how much fuller you get just by drinking water before your meal and it has helped us stay on track with our portions. 

Although neither of us lost much weight this week, we know that we have been working our butts off and eating right and that's more than just a number on a scale --until next week!
