Mercola's Fresh Shores Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Review...

Have you all heard about Coconut Oil? I've heard more and more people talk about it lately. Just the other day I was watching the today show and Meredith Vieira mentioned that she rubs Coconut Oil on her skin after taking a shower to keep her skin moisturized. Lucky for me I had just received some in the mail from Mercola to review.

Mercola sent me some of their Fresh Shores Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut Oil has many benefits and is used for many purposes. First, here's a list of benefits that Coconut Oil has...

  • Promotes Heart Health
  • Promotes weight loss if and when you need it
  • Supports Immune System Health
  • Supports a Healthy Metabolism
  • Provides you with an immediate energy source
  • Helps to keep skin youthful and healthy looking
  • Supports the proper functioning of the thyroid gland

Not only is Coconut Oil super beneficial, but it serves many, many purposes. It's a healthy choice to replace all of those cooking oils you usually use. It's a great tool to help you lose weight. Coconut Oil actually helps stimulate your metabolism, improves cholesterol and aids in digestion.

This Fresh Shores Extra Virgin Coconut Oil also contains one of nature's 'miracle' ingredient's: Lauric Acid. It contains 57% of Lauric Acid which is a compound also found in breast milk, making coconut oil an effortless way to help strengthen one's immune system.

Whenever you fry, stir-fry, or saute veggies, eggs poultry, fish or whatever, use coconut oil for a health-conscious light flavor. It's great for adding into smoothies or juiced drinks for a boost of the lauric acid. You can make your own mayonnaise with it too. It's also great for using on salads for a tropical flair and is a great replacement for butter on popcorn.

Fresh Shores Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is also wonderful to use on your skin. It has smoothing and moisturizing effects and is used by many professional massage therapists to kneed away tight stressed muscles. It promotes skin elasticity, is a convenient makeup remover and can be used in shaving applications.

So what do I think of it? I wasn't sure at first. I'd never seen it in person. It comes in a jar and almost looks like lard. So I opened it up and it smelled so good. Then I touched it and my goodness, it's very silky feeling. I put some on my skin and my lips and it is very, very moisturizing with the lightest coconut scent. I tried it to remove my makeup and it took my makeup right off while leaving my skin feeling great.

Next I put it to the test while cooking. It really does add a bit of enhanced flavor to food. My whole family seemed to like it and I loved knowing that it's so healthy.

Next I think I will try it on popcorn and in a smoothie. Anything that helps boost energy, improve my metabolism and strengthen my immune system makes me want to continue using it. I will definitely continue to use it on my skin and try to incorporate it more into our food. I love all of the benefits it has to offer.
