Genevieve Gorder has teamed up with SANUS to offer you these Baby Proofing Tips...

(The Jackson Five Family Blog received a complimentary product sample to help facilitate this feature. However all opinions are honest and our own!)

Flat screen TV's are getting very popular. We love our new one. It is sleek, modern and takes up much less space in our family room than past ones we've had because of how thin it is. My biggest worry though is that one of our boys' is going to knock it off of our media center when they are roughhousing. Could you imagine a 60" tv falling over on one of them? It's been a fear of mine for awhile. So when SANUS recently sent us a TV wall mount I couldn't wait for my husband to get to work and get it up on the wall.

Below is our old tv  which was smaller and bulkier and we had it just sitting on our media center...

Here is our bigger, sleeker TV mounted on the wall with the SANUS Premium Series VLF525 Full Motion Mount that's made for a 51" - 70" Flat Panel TV.

I love it. It makes me feel safer knowing that it's on the wall, high enough that it's out of the boys way. I love that it can be flat against the wall or we can extend it away from the wall and tilt it down if the boys' are laying on the floor watching a movie. We can also tilt it left or right so if they are in the dining room they can see it better etc...

Now I just need to get a new media center that I love or ditch it altogether!

According to an American Academy of Pediatrics study, more than 17,000 children,  --one every 30 minutes, are treated in emergency rooms across the country for TV related injuries every year. TV's can easily topple over when bumped or pulled off furniture, thus causing injury or even death.
Preventing this from happening is easy when you follow a few simple steps from celebrity interior designer Genevieve Gorder, and SANUS the #1 best selling TV mount brand in the United States.
Genevieve Gorder’s Baby Proofing Tips:

1. TV Safety is Mounting
Little ones love to crawl, climb and explore; Mount your TV to capitalize on square footage as this will instantly add a more open took to any room and ensure safety by putting this appealing device out of little arms' length
Ideal for any interior design layout, SANUS offers a complete line of TV wall mounts including full motion, tilting and fixed position
2. Reduce Clutter
While surrounding furnishings are sure to add elegance to the space, clutter is never a good look; amend complexities so the viewer is not distracted when watching TV and your baby is not met with obstacles, etc.
Avoid placing remote controls or other items in places where little ones might be enticed to climb up or reach for them
3. Bye, Bye Furniture
By placing your Roku, BluRay and cable box on a shelf on the wall or behind a mounted TV you eliminate the need for furniture altogether --which means more useful square footage, and the elimination of your makeshift, indoor jungle gym
4. "Dress Up" Your AV Accessories
Find essential accessories for your AV system and its surrounding d├ęcor, such as the SANUS cable tunnels to hind TV and power cords, at; this way choking hazards stay concealed and everything is perfectly accessorized and styled safely

Mounting our TV took a little bit of time, but it was well worth it in the end. The room looks so much better and I love that I don't have to worry about our flat screen getting knocked off the media center and possibly taking the chance of it injuring one our boys' or their friends!

SANUS offers a huge selection of TV wall mounts and I'm sure you will find the one that is right for you by visiting:
