March Madness is exciting --#CatchItall @BestBuy

(The Jackson Five Family blog has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free)

Basketball is in full swing at our house with the NCAA March Madness tournament going on. Craig and the boys constantly have basketball on tv when we are home and they are always streaming the games, checking the scores and staying up-to-date with their brackets through "multiple screens" like my husbands smartphone and tablet.

We are definitely a "device" family. My favorite is my laptop where I can pretty much do it all. It's important for me to be able to type and see a bigger screen and to have multiple browsers opened at once. The boys on the other hand love the tablet and Craig is definitely attached to his phone where he can not only watch the game, but text his friends and is able to keep an eye on his brackets and the latest scores through various app's. Staying connected and catching it all this season is so much fun since we are from Ohio and the University of Dayton is doing so good this year!

Entertain in style with the Bobby Flay Collection found exclusively at Kohl's...

(The Jackson Five Family blog received a complimentary product sample from Kohl's to help facilitate this post. However, all opinions are honest and our own!)

I'm so excited to share the Bobby Flay Collection with you. Found exclusively at Kohl's the collection includes Flay's must-have kitchen and entertaining products.
We recently received two products from the Bobby Flay collection and I'm excited to share them with you today..
First is the Bobby Flay Stoneware Lasagna Pan. This stoneware baking pan is sturdy and durable and available in colorful enamel that will take you from baking, straight to entertaining at the table. It's deep, I mean really deep for generous servings and you will love that it's both microwave and dishwasher safe.
Lasagna is an easy meal that my whole family loves. Having a great pan to bake it in is essential. We recently had lasagna night at my parent's house so I brought this dish and let my mom try it out. She absolutely loved it. She couldn't believe how big it was and loved the color. Her house has a beachy theme so it matched pretty good. She was a little disappointed that I wouldn't let her have it! Good thing she knows where to find it ;-) --Kohl's.

We also received the Bobby Flay Chip 'n' Dip Set which is perfect for displaying that delicious appetizer.

Whether you fill it with homemade guacamole, your favorite salsa or your mom's famous dip like I did your guests will love the modern tiered design and beautiful glass bowls that it's displayed in. When this set isn't being used for entertaining I love that it doubles as other things, like fruit bowls!

I am very happy with the Bobby Flay products and look forward to adding more to my kitchen.

You can see the entire Bobby Flay Collection by visiting the Kohl's website:

Keep Calm & Craft On During National Craft Month...

(The Jackson Five Family Blog received a complimentary product same from Rowenta to help facilitate this feature. However all opinions are honest and our own!)

March is "National Craft Month" so the boys' and I got our craft on the other day and had so much fun doing it!
We were recently sent several fun craft idea's from Rowenta's resident DIY Expert, Jenni Radosevich and one of them was making '5 Minute Graphic DIY Kids Tees' using the Rowenta First Class Travel Iron.
The craft was so easy and only called for 3 things -- T-Shirts, Iron-On Transfers, and of course an Iron. It was extremely simple and the boys thought they were big stuff making their own t-shirts to wear. Jace even helped iron, supervised of course!
They were so excited about their finished t-shirts and we had fun working together making a craft.
Unfortunately 72% of children ages 8 and under will miss National Craft Month. Why you ask? Because this young, and shockingly high percentage of children have already used an iPad, iPhone or similar touch-screen device to play games, watch videos or use other apps and the average amount of time children spend using these devices has tripled since 2011, according to a survey conducted by Common Sense Media. With such a large amount of children in the U.S. using electronic devices for education and entertainment, the developmental and bonding advantages that come from family oriented, hands on craft projects has been lost.
My kids are very guilty of using electronic devices too much. The first thing they want to do after school is get on the iPad or play on their Wii. We definitely need to do family crafts like this one more often. They had so much fun creating these and were proud to wear the shirts we created together. It was cheap, easy and I loved that they thought up their own idea's.
Here are a few other fun idea's from Radosevich that you can do using a Rowenta iron.

What you need:

 Rowenta First Class Travel Iron
Heat Transfer Material
What to do:
Fold your Iron-on material in half (shiny side facing out). Draw a half of a heart. Cut out.  Position on your pillow, and using your Rowenta iron at medium heat, iron over the shiny side. After ironing the heart evenly for 5 minutes, peel off the clear backing, and let cool.
What You Need:

    Drawing Paper
Heat Transfer Vinyl paper in silver or pink
Rowenta First Class Travel Iron
 Paper Puncher
Pillow case
 Picture Frame
What to do:
First, punch holes in the vinyl paper with the paper puncher.  Gather the dots and place on your drawing paper (make sure the shiny side of the vinyl paper is up). Next place your pillow case on top of the dots and use your Rowenta iron on medium heat to adhere the dots to the paper. Cut the paper down to fit inside the matte.  Put into the frame and display.
What you need:
 Natural Coir Mat
  Fabric Paint
Roller brush and tray
 Paint Brush
 Vinyl sticker letters
Rowenta Eco Iron
   Painter’s Tape
What to do:
First tape off the edges of your mat, I measured buy doing two pieces from the edge. Next lay down your vinyl sticker letters to spell out your message. Using the roller paint the uncovered spots. Peal off your letters and the tape around the edges. With a paintbrush add a pop of color. After it dries, place a piece of fabric like a pillow case over the painted sections and iron on medium heat to seal the paint so it does not brush off on your guest’s shoes. Use Rowenta’s Eco Iron and save energy while DIYing!

I encourage you to get crafty with your kids this month, they will love it and you'll have some fun too!
~ Happy Crafting!!

Disney's Muppets Most Wanted in theaters now...

Disney's "MUPPETS MOST WANTED" hit theaters yesterday and we had the chance to go see it in a pre-screening last weekend. If you have nothing going on this weekend get out there and see it. We absolutely loved it.

Disney's Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour selling out grand theaters in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London.
But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine --the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Rickey Gervais.
The film stars Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon, and Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard.
The movie is funny, the theatrical performances are awesome and it's really a great movie that the whole family will enjoy!
I was so excited to see that OPI launched a limited edition set of Nail Lacquers Inspired by the film. Colors include: Muppets World Tour, Miss Piggy's Big Number, I Love Applause, Let's Do Anything We Want!, Kermit Me To Speak, Int'l Crime Caper, Chillin' Like a Villain and the one I recently picked up Gaining Mole-Mentum which I've layered over this hot pink below.
Here's a fun DIY Muppets nail art tutorial --ENJOY!

My Cascade Ice Creation -- Sparkling Spring Slushy...

I'm always up for a good challenge so when Cascade Ice recently asked me to participate in their "Cascade Ice Creations" contest I said, sure why not!
Cascade Ice sent me and 3 other bloggers several of their sparkling water flavors and we had to use at least one as a mixer and come up with our very own one-of-a-kind drink.
So today I'm excited to share my creation with all of you! It will soon be featured on the Cascade Ice Facebook page where you can check out all of our creations and vote for your favorite one!
So here we go. I hope you will all try the 'Sparkling Spring Slushy' created by the one and only.. me!
After such a long, cold winter I am so excited that spring is this coming Sunday so I thought why not create a fun sparkling slushy! The boys' and I love a good slushy and I hope you will enjoy this fruity one in honor of sunshine and warmer temps that spring is sure to bring!
Sparkling Spring Slushy
2 Cups Ice
1 Fresh Lime
1 Cup Fresh Strawberries
1 Cup Strawberry Banana Cascade Ice
In a blender add ice, cut and washed strawberries, 1/2 of a freshly squeezed lime and one cup Cascade Ice Strawberry Banana sparkling water with juice.
Pulse the mixture until you have a nice 'slushy' consistency!
Pour into fancy cups and garnish with left over limes!
Last, but certainly not least...
enjoy like these cuties did!
Cascade Ice is a zero-calorie, sugar-free flavored sparkling water that eliminates all the unnecessary, unhealthy "extras" found in other flavored waters like sugar, sodium, carbs, caffeine, and gluten!
