I hope you had a great Mother's Day, I sure did. We spent all weekend at one of our favorite places --Great Wolf Lodge.
My parent's came with us this time and it was so fun being able to spend Mother's Day doing something fun with my mom and kids.
Being on the GWL Ask-A-Mom panel I get asked a lot if Great Wolf Lodge is really that much fun. If there are things to do for certain ages, if there are other things to do besides the waterpark etc... Let me tell you that it REALLY is that much fun! Once you are checked in at the resort you don't have to leave. There is something for everyone in the family. The water park is great for all ages. Just look at my mom's face after we talked her into going down Coyote Cannon --we promised her it wasn't 'that bad' ha! She may have laughed so hard she cried, but she survived and we will have this memory forever!
Whether you're seeking a big thrill or simply looking for some relaxing water fun you'll find it at GWL. There are slides for both little kids and big kids. There is a family ride that everyone can go on together, double tube rides for friends, a lazy river, a huge play tower called Fort Mackenzie that kids can climb without being in deep water, a wave pool, and hot tubs for both kids and adults. It's a great weekend getaway, the perfect fun family vacation and a place where memories are made!
Once you've have enough of the waterpark there are many other fun activities to enjoy. MagiQuest is a big hit with the kids. My kids also love the arcade and playing the Howl at the Moon Glow miniature golf. Little kids love when the Great Clock Tower Show comes alive, story-time is held and when other fun activities in the lobby take place like dance parties and the magician visits!
I personally love browsing the gift shop, sipping my Starbucks by the fire and I love that I have the option of a spa treatment right on sight too (if only I had time for that, maybe some day when my kids are teenagers!!).
You'll never go hungry at the GWL --they offer so many food options. There are fun little snack shops located in the water park area and there is a great pizza parlor right outside of the waterpark doors. If you're really hungry you'll love the Loose Moose Cottage buffet that is available for both breakfast and dinner and I highly recommend trying the new Lodge Wood Fired Grill. My parents loved trying it for the first time. It's a little pricier, but the steaks and burgers are out of this world!
The boys' finished their night with a trip to the gift shop where they brought home 2 new friends and they enjoyed "the best paw fudge" ever, their exact words --yum!
It was a Mother's Day weekend that I'll never forget. We can't wait until our next visit and hope you'll plan a visit soon!
