Knock on wood we've been so lucky this year and so far haven't had any sicknesses in the house. However, it's going around! Hearing from friends, family and those I know on social media everyone's had the flu, a cold, sinus and ear infections and much more.
I always hate this time of year because I know the germs are flying around our schools too. Thank goodness we have a great school nurse. My husband and I spent one morning in the clinic a few weeks ago putting up a vinyl sign on the wall and it's amazing how many kids are in and out of there. From minor accidents on the playground to belly aches and full blown flu symptoms the school nurse is always there for our kids --Comforting them, applying bandages, taking temperatures, administering medicine and deciding whether or not they need to be sent home. It's a job that takes a big heart and lots of patience. The school nurse is someone who is not always seen like a teacher and she or he may feel under appreciated after a long day or long cold and flu season.
So today we're excited about a fun contest called 'America's Greatest School Nurse' Contest brought to you by Sick Just Got Real honoring school nurses nationwide. If you have a school nurse that goes above and beyond educating and comforting students, we want to hear about them!
You can nominate your school nurse now through February 23rd! Let's tell our school nurses they ARE appreciated and enter them into the contest where 1 nurse from each state plus Washington D.C. will win a prize valued at $500 and will be entered to win the Grand Prize: the title of America's Greatest School Nurse and a trip for a getaway from school sickness --nominate yours HERE!
(Once nominated voting will be open from April 3-April 16 and the winners will be announced in early may!)
Even with great school nurses around, kids get sick no matter how much we try to prevent it. When 'sick gets real', I trust the pediatric brands of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare to get us through with these 3 solutions --Children's Advil, Children's Robitussin and Children's Dimetapp to tackle the ickiest of symptoms.
I feel so fortunate with everything going around that my kids haven't been sick, but if and when it does happen we're ready to ease their aches and pains with these 3 products on hand! Whether it be a fever we need to reduce or the aches and pains of a cold or cough, I know the Pfizer pediatric products will be there to help day or night!
